The Hamdrax is a unique Hardmode tool that combines the functions of a Drill, Hammer, and Chainsaw, and is the Hallow-tier version of those tools. It is considered the strongest tool in the game, and can free most blocks and walls in a single hit. Adamantite Ore and Mythril Ore still require two hits, as do most furniture items.

The Hamdrax is crafted using all of the drills and chainsaws, along with five of each Boss-dropped Soul.

The Hamdrax is the only drill with knockback. Its best Modifier prefix is Godly.

Notes

• The Hamdrax can destroy Demon Altars, even though the Pwnhammer is not one of its crafting ingredients (nor is any other Hammer). As usual, the Wall of Flesh must be defeated in a World before this is possible.
• The Hamdrax does not have the most axe power in the game, as the Molten Hamaxe has 150% power, versus the Hamdrax's 110%. The Hamdrax is the most powerful for pickaxe and hammer duty.
• The Hamdrax does not provide light during use as the Pwnhammer does.
• The Hamdrax cannot be Reforged with any Modifier that has a Speed or Size bonus, and therefore cannot be reforged as Legendary. The best is Godly.

Tips

• Due to its rapid attack speed, high damage and knockback, it can easily serve as a good melee weapon for close-range targets.
• Though the most powerful tool currently in the game, it may be a bother as unintended breakings are more likely, since it breaks every breakable object. (And almost instantly!)

Trivia

• "Hamdrax" is a portmanteau of words hammer, drill and axe, because it can perform the actions of all three.
• While the Hamdrax has the functionality of a hammer, it does not have any hammer-like parts in its graphics, nor does it require a hammer as a crafting ingredient.
• This, along with the Hallowed Repeater, is the only item forged from boss souls that is of red rarity, despite, arguably, being the most difficult craftable item to obtain in Terraria.
• Getting this tool can be considered a top accomplishment, as the player must kill Skeletron Prime, The Twins and The Destroyer each at least once to obtain the required souls.
• The tooltip mentions a "Hamsaw". However, there is no such tool known as a Hamsaw in Terraria (so far). This is probably a joke combining the words hammer and chainsaw.
