Mythril armor is an armor which requires Mythril Bars and must be crafted at a Mythril Anvil. Like all Hardmode ore armors, Mythril armor has three different headgear/helmet options, allowing players to focus on magical, melee or ranged combat, and each changing the set bonus. Crafting a one-helmet set requires 45 Mythril Bars or 180 Mythril Ore. Crafting all five pieces requires 65 Mythril Bars or 260 Mythril Ore.

[edit] Notes

Armor generating light.
  • (Pre 1.2) Mythril Armor will begin to sparkle when it is sufficiently lit. It will sparkle brighter (more sparkles) the brighter the light source is, and the color of the sparkles (at least initially) depends on the color of the initial light source (it tends towards white, losing some saturation). However, the sparkles can serve as light sources for new sparkles, leading to a positive feedback loop. Within seconds, the armor brightly shines white, even brighter than a torch but with less range. The feedback loop will continue until the player either disables it by removing a piece of the armor or leaves behind enough of the sparkles by moving quickly.
  • (Pre-1.2) This light-generating effect occurs even if the armor is equipped in the social slots, and can be used in lieu of a Mining Helmet, Shadow Orb, Dual Hook or Fairy Bell. If the light ever dies down all the player needs to do is find a light source - a held or placed Torch, a light-generating tool or weapon, lava, or any number of other things.
  • (Pre-1.2) The lighting effect is only effective when the player is standing still (the sparkles still light up, but provide very little light).

[edit] History

  • 1.2: Lighting effect removed.
  • 1.1: Introduced.
