- Although Slimer's second form sprite looks very similar to the Corrupt Slime (Slimer's simply being a smaller version), this is where the similarities end. Slimer has less Health, doesn't split into Slimelings, and doesn't inflict the Darkness debuff.

- Its name may be a reference to the Ghostbusters films, which feature a flying slime creature named Slimer.
- It appears to be wearing a set of Demon Wings. However, it does not drop a pair upon death.
