The table is broken 135.180.72.2 21:34, 16 July 2020 (UTC)

This page covers everything that all of the individual pickaxe pages cover, do we really need all of the indv. pages? --Justin 04:36, 10 August 2011 (UTC)

Modifiers like the ones for accessories seem to apply to these items as well. Proof of legendary pickaxe: screenshot proof

That was hacked in with an Invedit program. They cannot legitly have a legendary prefix. --Moxxy 23:32, 10 December 2011 (UTC)

Not true, I've reforged a nightmare pickaxe to legendary too - 94.171.160.148 19:01, 3 December 2012 (UTC)

We need to update the "destroys X in #Y number of hits" table to include the new pickaxes. - Spinfx (talk) 01:27, 13 October 2013 (UTC)

Bone pickaxe speed[]

There really needs to be a mention that pickaxes like Nightmare and Bone have double (?) the mining speed despite having a lower "swing" speed. - 24.183.58.176 01:57, 15 February 2014 (UTC)

Do you mean they have less swings to break a block, but their swing are slower? Compared to which other pick? Maybe they should be included in the "Pickaxe hits required to destroy blocks" table. I honestly haven't noticed a difference between them and other pickaxes, but if it's there it should be included. Summoningdark (talk) 02:05, 15 February 2014 (UTC)
Hi there. I'm not sure whether he means what my own observation just hinted at, but according to the table, a Palladium Pickaxe and a Molten Pickaxe both have a speed of 24 and need the same amount of hits for all kinds of blocks. But there seems to be an exception made for weaker blocks, where excess pickaxe power (e.g. hitting a 50% hitpoints block like dirt with a 130% power pickaxe) is converted into faster hit speed. According to the data here, a Palladium Pickaxe shouldn't mine dirt faster than a Molten Pickaxe, but it is a lot faster, as tested with a +12% speed Palladium vs. a +16% speed Molten. And then the Pickaxe Axe really goes off like a rocket against weak blocks. My Light Nightmare Pickaxe has effectively been made obsolete in all cases by a Quick Palladium Pickaxe, and the Palladium one by the Pickaxe Axe. And the thing is that this strange math does not apply to all pickaxes, because the Nightmare Pickaxe IS faster vs. weak blocks like dirt than the Molten Pickaxe. --87.144.18.224 05:16, 28 November 2014 (UTC)

poor wording[]

silver says "up to meteorite" tungston says "meteorite"

from the article alone you can't tell if silver can mine meteor. is it a >5 or >= 5 situation

wording should be consistent and clear throughout the chart for...clarity
clear for clarity.

I've changed the wording now, hopefully it's a bit clearer. NoseOfCthulhu (talk) 16:33, 5 June 2014 (UTC)

Laser drill[]

I'm pretty sure this is considered a Drill, isn't it? So it should be removed from this list and added to the Drills page instead.

You're right. Totally forgot from that page. Moved it to its rightful place. Still need to find its mining speed.

Merging of new endgame tools[]

It seems to me that there isn't any difference (in stats) between the different endgame tools forged from Luminite. I would suggest merging them into 'Luminite Pickaxe' and 'Luminite Hamaxe' (with individual recipes contained within).

Adamantite and Titanium pickaxes can't mine Chlorophyte. Someone should fix this. 209.43.7.130 17:06, 2 September 2015 (UTC)

Light Nebula Pickaxe same speed as Light Picksaw[]

The article suggests that the mining speed of the Luminute pickaxes is in-between Picksaw and Shroomite Digging Claw, but I tested all 3 in Light and Picksaw and Lumi had the same mining speed (with the Lumi having a much faster swing animation) while the Claw was much faster. This might require further testing. --87.152.197.175 17:05, 10 December 2015 (UTC)

Desert fossil[]

The pages about pickaxes don't mention how a nightmare pickaxe or better is required to mine desert fossil. I've tried to change it myself, but I couldn't because of the templates. Morenohijazo (talk) 4 October 2016

"Desktop 1.4.0.1: You can no longer get modifiers to increase speed." is it true?[]

At the very least, you can still get modifiers to "add speed", but I don't test if they're actually effective. Could someone confirm? Thanks!--Ikenaikoto (talk) 00:44, 7 June 2020 (UTC)

This is patently false; I obtained both a light and a sluggish Molten Pickaxe, and gave myself 15 seconds to mine one-wide pillars of Ebonstone with each. The light pickaxe dug 11 blocks further than the sluggish one, enough to overwhelm and rule out any amount of experimental error on such a comparison with a pickaxe with such slow base speed. You can even hear the greater hit frequency with the light pickaxe. I feel confident in reversing this edit without further discussion pending recorded proof of this claimed change. 110.143.1.198 13:46, 8 June 2020 (UTC)

Dungeon bricks[]

The page says a Nightmare Pickaxe or better is required to mine Dungeon Bricks when not near the world spawn. From my experience, this is wrong in two ways: it's the Molten Pickaxe the weakest pickaxe that always mines DBs, and weaker pickaxes are able to mine DBs independently of world width, but only when on the surface. According to the page for Dungeon Bricks, in Desktop version this happens since 1.3.1. However, I'm not sure about what happens in other versions. Morenohijazo (talk) 16 August 2020
