A bucket is used to carry liquids (lava, water, or honey). Each bucket holds one full square/tile of liquid.

Click on any sufficent body of liquid with the Empty Bucket to collect the liquid into the bucket (water will make a Water Bucket, lava a Lava Bucket, and honey a Honey Bucket). Clicking again will deposit the liquid at the location of the mouse (this also works in mid-air). Note that emptying a bucket of water directly onto a wide lava pool will not create any obsidian, since the water will spread, wouldn't be deep enough in contact squares to react with lava and therefore instantly disappear.

If autopause is off then the bucket doesn't have to be the selected item in the hotbar to work. Instead, you open up your inventory, click on the bucket, and drag it over to where you want to fill/dump the liquid.

You can also wear the Empty Bucket as a helmet, but it only gives +1 defense.

    Notes

    • Because the bucket has no hue, it cannot be dyed with anything but intense dyes.
