The Light's Bane is a broadsword crafted from Demonite, considered to be an upgrade from the Gold Broadsword and the Platinum Broadsword. It has a Crimtane counterpart, the Blood Butcherer, which is stronger but also much slower. It is one of the first three Demonite items available to the player, along with the Demon Bow and the War Axe of the Night, as it does not require Shadow Scales to craft. It is notably faster and slightly smaller than the metal broadswords.

Its best modifier is Legendary.

Tips

• The War Axe of the Night is often considered to be a better weapon than the Light's Bane, due to its increased damage and constant swing. In addition to this, it doubles as an axe. The Breaker is even stronger, but is incredibly slow, making it less efficient. Despite this, it is still important to craft the Light's Bane, as it is needed to craft the Night's Edge later on in the game.
