A mod (short for "modification") is community-developed software that customizes Terraria's graphics and/or gameplay elements in some way. Several mods are available for the PC version of Terraria. Mods are not developed or endorsed by Re-Logic.

A mod will be built to customize a particular version of Terraria, and can otherwise cause game issues. Multiple mod installations can also cause conflicts. Additionally, as mods are not officially tested or endorsed, they are not guaranteed reliable. Due to these concerns, players may be advised to back up their saved game data (My Games/Terraria folder), as well as their original game installation (Program Files/steam/SteamApps/common folder) before attempting a mod installation.

Be reminded that all mods were designed with the PC version in mind, and are not compatible with any mobile editions of the game.
