The Stynger is a ranged weapon that drops off the Golem boss. It uses Stynger Bolts as ammo, which initially drop off the Golem as well and can later be purchased from the Witch Doctor or Arms Dealer with the Stynger in your inventory. The shots do an area of effect explosion which will deal damage to anything in the explosion radius. Arching shrapnel is thrown from the explosion, each causing additional explosions smaller than the original but with the same base damage.
Notes
- The best Modifier available for the Stynger is Unreal.
- The left mouse button can be held down for continuous fire.
- The Stynger counts as a rocket-using weapon for the purpose of Shroomite armor.
- The shrapnel explosion doesn't damage the shooter, allowing it to be used even at point blank.
- Due to the explosive attacks, the Stynger can often finish off enemies without having to aim too carefully. This is very convenient in situations where the player is stressed, unsure about the target's location (such as in dark areas), or simply wants to get rid of annoying monsters.
