A player riding in a minecart.

Minecarts are mounts that allow players to ride on Minecart Tracks. There are currently 25 Desktop version / 3 Console VersionMobile version / 1 Old-gen console version3DS version different minecarts.

On Desktop version Desktop, Console version Console, and Mobile version Mobile, minecarts need to be equipped in the Minecart equipment slot, overriding the use of the Wooden Minecart. On Old-gen console version Old-gen console and 3DS version3DS, the ordinary Minecart is the default and it cannot be changed.

If the player is within a few blocks of a Minecart Track, pressing Quick Mount (or Open / Activate on it) will grapple the player to the track and appear on a minecart.

  • With the exception of the default cart given when the player does not have a Minecart equipped, the Mechanical Cart, and the Digging Molecart, all Minecart variants have the same acceleration and max speed.[1]

Trivia[edit | edit source]

The original teaser for the Minecarp.
  • The hook fired when Quick Mount is used is identical to the Grappling Hook in appearance.
  • The Minecarp's name is a portmanteau, combining the words Minecart and carp.
    • Its tooltip is a reference to the original teaser it was first shown in.
  • The Mechanical Cart is the only Expert-exclusive item that must be crafted.
