Boomerangs

From Terraria Wiki
Jump to: navigation, search

Boomerangs are melee weapons that are thrown outwards when used and return to the player after a short amount of time. They have a much greater range than most other types of melee weapons but are not considered ranged due to not requiring any ammunition. Only one boomerang can be thrown at a time, with the exception of the stackable Light Discs and Bananarangs.

The best modifier for all boomerangs is generally Godly. The two stackable boomerangs cannot receive any modifiers.

Types[edit | edit source]

There are currently 15 different boomerangs available in Terraria, 6 of which are Hardmode-exclusive.

Notes[edit | edit source]

  • Increasing melee speed with accessories and/or armor will increase both the range and flight speed of boomerangs.
  • Boomerangs have infinite piercing ability when returning, and can return through blocks.
  • Boomerangs can only have universal modifiers because they cannot have their speed modified.
  • Since boomerangs are considered melee weapons, they are affected by accessories such as the Magma Stone and all flasks.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • After a certain period of time, if using the Rod of Discord to escape, a boomerang will disappear as it tries to return to the player.
