The Christmas Tree Sword is a Hardmode sword that fires ornament projectiles when swung. It has a chance to drop from Everscreams during the Frost Moon event.

On the Desktop version Desktop version and Mobile version Mobile version, swinging the Christmas Tree Sword hurls a star ornament projectile in a straight line in the direction of the cursor which releases four randomly colored ornaments on its way. These ornaments move a few tiles, linger in the air for 50 ticks[1] (0.83 seconds), and then become affected by gravity and drop to the ground. They break upon contact with enemies or blocks. All projectiles deal Desktop version 75% / Mobile version 50% of the sword's damage (Desktop version 64 / Mobile version 43 base damage), and the colored ornaments only inflict a quarter of the sword's knockback (1.75 (Very weak)).[2]

On the Console version Console version, Old-gen console version Old-gen console version, and 3DS3DS version version, swinging the Christmas Tree Sword launches a single ornament in the direction of the cursor which is affected by gravity. It deals 50% of the sword's damage (Console Version 43 / Old-gen console version3DS version 36 base damage) and breaks upon contact with enemies or blocks. Unlike most other late-game swords, the Christmas Tree Sword is not capable of autoswing in these versions.

Its best modifier is Legendary.

Notes[edit | edit source]

  • Desktop and Mobile versions The range of the star projectile is 18.58 tiles. It releases an ornament every 10 ticks[1] (0.167 seconds) and breaks 100 ticks (1.67 seconds) after firing. Unlike the four other ornaments, it does not drop to the ground and instead vanishes in place.[2]
  • Desktop and Mobile versions The first and third ornaments will be released to the right (in the direction of flight) and the second and fourth to the left. Since each consecutive ornament has slightly less range, the five projectiles usually align in a roughly triangular shape.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Prior to 1.3.5Desktop, Console, and Mobile versions, this item was also referred to as Christmas Sword in the source code.
