Ocram is the second endgame boss on the Old-gen console version, Windows Phone version, and Nintendo version, alongside Duke Fishron. Ocram spawns Servants of Ocram throughout the entire battle. They can be deadly if not killed right away. The battle has two phases, with the second phase being the most difficult.

The Battle[]
Ocram's hitbox is not very accurate to his sprite, so some attacks will fail to damage him. To reduce the chance of missing, aim for his eyes.
Ocram's second form is extremely dangerous; he'll fire waves of Demon Scythe spells. If you get caught in one of these waves, you will lose most of your health, so make sure to avoid them. He will also fire large laser barrages during this phase, so you will want to have mobility accessories equipped, such as the Lightning Boots.
General Strategies[]
General Tips[]
This content is transcluded from Guide:Practical tips § Combat.
- For nocturnal bosses, starting the battle just after the sun sets (7:30 PM) will provide the maximum amount of time to defeat the boss. In Hardmode, the Moon Charm and/or Moon Stone and their upgrades are also useful at night.
- Boss battles can be won or lost before the battle ever starts. Choose your equipment and have it ready; find and/or make potions and placed buffs;
use the highest-tier food you have available; set up an arena appropriate to the boss; learn the strategies for the boss you're facing. - Prepare your Boss-fighting arena with adequate lighting, and Campfires and Heart Lanterns for health regeneration.
- Always carry around a stack of the highest-tier healing potion available, as relying only on natural Health Regeneration is not a good idea. Depending on the game stage, this can include items such as Mushrooms or Honeyfins. On the PC, Console, Mobile, and tModLoader versions, Restoration Potions are healing potions with a shorter cooldown.
- Likewise carry mana potions, if you use Magic.
- The Strange Brew
is also an option, but its weak healing effect will trigger the Potion Sickness cooldown as well as Mana Sickness. On the Old-gen console version, Windows Phone version, Old Chinese version, Nintendo version, and tModLoader 1.3-Legacy version, Restoration Potions can save a slot, but will likewise trigger both cooldowns.
- It is suggested to build houses for the Nurse NPC in your arena. The Nurse can heal and remove debuffs instantly, at the cost of some money.
- Bosses are displayed on the Minimap: Follow the boss's icon to track it when you're struggling to find it. You can identify the boss icons by checking their respective wiki pages.
- Once you have freed the Mechanic in the Dungeon, you can use Wire to enhance your arena with Traps and helpful Heart and Star Statues. The former helps to damage the enemies, though be careful to set them up correctly in order not to hurt yourself during the battle. The latter will spawn heart and star pickups, respectively. Connect these devices to timers.
- It may be useful to summon and kill the Eye of Cthulhu or King Slime before summoning any harder boss in order to spawn an extra one-use pool of Hearts. Note that this will prevent any Heart Statues from spawning new Hearts.
Arena Preparation[]
- It is advised to build a long, straight platform, similar to a platform used to fight the Wall of Flesh or The Twins.
Gearing Up[]
Weapons[]
For Melee users:
- Using a sword with ranged capabilities, such as the Terra Blade, True Night's Edge, True Excalibur, or Beam Sword, can be very effective, since one will be able to dodge Ocram's ranged attacks more effectively.
- If the player has not yet acquired any of the aforementioned swords, an easier sword to obtain is the Chlorophyte Claymore; it is not very useful at close range, but it fires orbs which deal a decent amount of damage.
- Boomerangs, such as Light Discs, will work well. If the player has defeated the Golem, the Possessed Hatchet will do large amounts of damage with a good modifier.
- If you have completed the Pumpkin Moon, The Horseman's Blade is a very solid choice. Killing the Servants of Ocram will spawn homing pumpkin projectiles, allowing you to damage Ocram from afar.
- Using Flasks is an easy way to boost your DPS; the most useful flask is the Flask of Ichor, as it will lower Ocram's defense.
- If you are looking for a profit, you can use a Flask of Gold alongside the Flasks of Ichor, although this flask provides no offensive bonuses.
- Vampire Knives are very useful as a secondary weapon, due to their life stealing ability.
For Ranged users:
- The Megashark or Uzi as well as the Gatligator
with Crystal Bullet or Chlorophyte Bullets will work extremely well. - Alternatively, you could use the Flamethrower if you've beaten Skeletron Prime. If you are concerned about your ammo, it would be useful to create a gel farm with a Slime Statue.
- The Pulse Bow
is quite effective if your arena is closed-in, as the arrows bounce off of walls and deal large amounts of damage. - If you have defeated Duke Fishron, the Tsunami is an extremely powerful choice.
- On the Nintendo version, using Heart Arrows with any bow can inflict Ocram with the Stunned debuff, freezing him in place and rendering the fight incredibly easy.
For Magic users:
- The Razorpine is the best option available for magic users due to its extremely high DPS, although Greater Mana Potions may need to be used to offset its high Mana cost.
- The Razorblade Typhoon is another powerful choice. It is especially useful for taking out Ocram's Servants.
- The Magical Harp is an acceptable choice against Ocram if one's arena has walls on each side for the projectiles to bounce off of.
- Using a Shadowbeam Staff in an enclosed area can deal massive amounts of damage to both Ocram and his Servants.
- The Golden Shower is extremely useful if used to inflict the Ichor debuff periodically, as this debuff will reduce Ocram's defense to 0.
- The Inferno Fork is an excellent weapon against Ocram, as Ocram is not immune to the On Fire debuff. This weapon is also effective for taking out the Servants of Ocram.
For Summoners:
- The Raven Staff is very effective against Ocram. Another option is the Tempest Staff if you have defeated Duke Fishron.
- The Staff of the Frost Hydra is useful for extra DPS.
Armor[]
- Melee users should equip Beetle Armor. If one is fighting Ocram before defeating Golem, Chlorophyte Armor should be used instead.
- Rangers should use Shroomite Armor. Chlorophyte Armor is an acceptable substitute if Shroomite is unavailable.
- For magic users, the best option is Spectre Armor. On the Old-gen console version, the Spectre Mask should be used for the majority of the fight, and one should only equip the Hood when their health is low.
- Summoners should summon most of their minions while having Spooky Armor equipped, then switch to the Tiki Armor to summon an extra, slightly weaker minion.
Accessories[]
- Melee players should wear a Cobalt Shield, Obsidian Shield or Ankh Shield to prevent knockback.
- Use Wings and Frostspark Boots, Lightning Boots or Spectre Boots for increased speed and mobility. Master Ninja Gear or the Tabi can also be useful for dodging the laser barrages during the second phase.
- If the player is a magic user, a Mana Flower can be helpful. However, the Servants of Ocram often supply one with enough Mana that potions will hardly be necessary. Magic Cuffs can be used in place of the Mana Flower as well, if one wants to avoid Mana Sickness entirely.
- The Celestial Stone is a solid accessory for every class, and gives the player many advantages, including 4 defense, life regeneration, and increased damage.
- Equipping an Emblem is good for all damage types. Summoners will need to use the Avenger or Destroyer Emblems, due to the lack of a Summoner Emblem in the Nintendo version and the Old-gen console version.
Potions[]
- Ironskin and Swiftness Potions are extremely useful for extra survivability and mobility. The Endurance Potion is also useful for survivability.
- Heartreach Potion is useful due to the hearts dropped by the Servants of Ocram.
- Magic users should use Mana Regeneration Potion and Magic Power Potion. The Mana Regeneration Potion in particular is extremely important, and almost necessary.
- Ammo Reservation Potions are useful for ranged users. Archery Potions should be used if one is using a bow.
- Wrath Potion and Rage Potion are both useful for a bit of extra DPS.
