Suffocation is a debuff that is inflicted when the player is caught in falling Sand, Silt, or Slush, causing 5 damage per second. Drowning will not give you this debuff. Damage numbers bounce like other continuous damage debuffs.

Notes[edit | edit source]

  • Suffocation will only be caused by the blocks listed above; other blocks, such as Obsidian that forms over a player, will be completely harmless.
    • Suffocation can occur if any part of the player is trapped by a block.

  • Desktop 1.2.3: Running underwater no longer causes flashes of the Suffocation debuff.
