I think the Charged Blaster Cannon is a reference to either Mega Man's buster cannon or Samus' Arm Cannon (Metroid). The sprite looks like it, and similar to both weapons you can fire one blast or charge it up. What do you think? -- Camelotcrusade (talk) 05:33, 1 August 2015 (UTC)
- I think you're right. When I first acquired this weapon I was confused about the choice of sprite -- it seemed too small and simple considering its function, and it furthermore seemed unfinished -- until I saw the suggestion that it was a Mega Man etc reference. This is the only way I could see it making sense, as the "unfinished" look makes it seem more like a part of the player's arm when overlayed, and of course the Mega Man/Metroid canon is rather small and simple.
- However, regardless of what you or I think, I'm not sure there's enough objective evidence to say this is definitely the obvious intended reference. That's the standard for including things like this in articles. The sprite might be too small and simple to preclude any other possibilities. Equazcion (talk) 07:09, 1 Aug 2015 (UTC)
