Impossible to grow grass?[edit source]
"It is impossible to grow grass in a desert, even through the use of Grass Seeds."
I am pretty sure you can grow grass in a desert if you provide your own dirt. I spawned in a desert before the update and have since mined out the sand and replaced it with dirt, all after the update, and grass has grown onto it. I can upload screenshots if necessary. --Colonel Thirty Two 23:27, 30 May 2011 (UTC)
Move to Desert[edit source]
There's no real reason to have this biome (and Forests too) pluralized, is there? Ocean, Dungeon, Jungle, etc. aren't. Besides, it's easier to use [[Desert]]s when wanting to pluralize a wikilink in singular than [[Deserts|Desert]] when wanting to singularize a wikilink in plural. --Gez 16:14, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
Slimes in desert?[edit source]
I'm not sure slimes actually spawn in deserts. I have only ever seen vultures and antlions. Perhaps there was a forest nearby that spawned them and they hopped over? --GauHelldragon 06:23, 29 June 2011 (UTC)
I've only seemed to encounter desert exclusive monsters during the day. During the night, all I get is zombies and demon eyes. Does the same happen to anyone else? • iLiaWneK • T • C • 21:59, 15 August 2011 (UTC)
desert + corruption = mini Biome Arena for Eow? (useless to useful enviromentalists page)[edit source]
deserts have spawned rather expansiveley in the corruption, but this doesnt allow thespawn of enemies, or waterleaf just cacti, the deserts in the corruption are ussually flat enough to make your own mini-arena for the EoW, other than hat deserts are primarily useless in the corruption since their natural spawns are cancelled out, that is why i serve a purpose to make sure every enviroment uses its usefullness and pottential to the fulest, as you read this thread and as im typing i am moving a desert Biome out of the corruption, where it can be further put to better use such as in a forest + sand biome, making it useful for getting ingrediants for the sand gun, which, prior to 220.127.116.11 is the only way to stop lava / kill it off, the desert also produces cacti which you can cash in for money, or even sell for more valluable potions, the cacti function as a natural and quite common source of currencey and in the desert biome exclusiveley, it is like other biomes where you can cash things in over a short time. before 1.0.6 + .1 waterleaf and other herbs in a desert, etc. could only stack up to 7, nd i support the desert biome 100%, to me i see every enviroment as valluable, and every enviroment, even the desert should be joined together closely, and that no one should take advantage of such a virtue to make things like glass. whoever agrees i will happilly honor on this small post.
New Biome screenshot ?[edit source]
Is the "quicksand" really different than actual water, or is it just water with a desert color? I guess the real question is can you make bottled water out of it, and if you can, then it isn't quicksand at all.
