Soul Calibur trivia[edit source]
This trivia seems very shaky to me. I'd assumed that the color change was related to legal issues, but if not, it's almost certainly a reference to LoZ Four Swords rather than Soul Calibur (the soul calibur colors were a reference to Four Swords themselves, I'm sure). Any input? -Xolroc (talk) 17:51, 13 June 2014 (UTC)
yes, however someone already added the foursword trivia in -User:Michelangelo42
Issues in console/mobile version?[edit source]
What issues would occur from having a Link costume in a console/mobile game? All I can think of is that Microsoft or Sony might not like it because they're afraid it might promote Nintendo's competing consoles, but that wouldn't explain what issues it would cause in a mobile version. If it's because of Nintendo's copyright, why would that matter any more on those platforms than on PC? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Flarn2006 (talk • contribs) at 02:31, 29 June 2015 (UTC)
- It probably wouldn't cause problems with PC because they've recently let up on use of their IPs in derivative works; they'd probably view their direct console competitors as more of a breach than homages in a PC game. Nintendo's also involved in the mobile space now.
- Admittedly, most of these problems wouldn't be a concern at the time the set was introduced- it's likely just that the game was expanding to competitors' hardware where the terrain was a bit more shaky and 505 decided to play it safe. Nonetheless, you're right- the reasoning is unknown, and that statement is largely speculation on our part. Gearzein (talk) 08:33, 29 June 2015 (UTC)
- Following up on this for some reason: while this and the Plumber's Clothes have been the poster children for "undeniable" trivia for quite some time, it's interesting to note that with Terraria moving to 3DS and Wii U, we now have an official developer comment on copyright issues regarding these vanity sets. This solidly confirms what's been known for quite some time, but also substantiates the idea that including these unaltered would result in complications. Probably not significant, but interesting.
