Will my pre-generated world have a Jungle Biome? Gamazek 21:00, 10 June 2011 (UTC)

No, jungles will only be generated upon generation of the world. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 82.1.37.202 (talk).

corruption and jungle near each other[]

I found a jungle with corruption near it I think that's rare...

Roaringjohn 02:11, 17 June 2011 (UTC)

Hm, not sure of it being that rare. I've got it in the world i'm using now, right next door to each other. I get the occasional Eater of Souls passing by into it.
Leftie 03:18, 17 June 2011 (UTC)

Oh I thought it was rare or something.

spread[]

will mud blocks, turned into jungle grass, spread on normal grass and dirt? greetz --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 212.178.213.130 (talk • contribs) at 08:09, 17 June 2011 (UTC).

That doesn't make any sense. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by Josiah2536 (talk • contribs) at 08:15, 17 June 2011 (UTC).
"Jungle grass" spreads on mud. "Normal grass" spreads on dirt. So no. happypal (talk • contribs) 08:34, 17 June 2011 (UTC)

Pre-requisite[]

I read on Goblin Scout that 150 blocks of Jungle Grass will create a Jungle biome. Can anyone confirm this? I'll add it to the page for now, but do correct if it is not accurate. -- Rhombus (TC) 21:29, 23 September 2011 (UTC)

It's 150 Jungle tiles. That includes Jungle Grass blocks, things that grow on them in the Underground Jungle, things that grow on them in the above-ground Jungle, and vines that grow from them. --Lunboks 21:48, 23 September 2011 (UTC)
Thank you for that clarification. So even an isolated patch of Jungle Grass could have the potential to become overgrown and form a Jungle biome if left unattended. That's actutally pretty cool. -- Rhombus (TC) 00:40, 24 September 2011 (UTC)

Artificial jungle trees[]

Does someone have any idea of how that was made ? Because no matter how I try, it seems impossible to make artificial jungle trees in the current version of the game. And the tree page doesn't show any changes of that kind in the tree-growing mechanics between older versions. --Tcas 02:12, 5 December 2011 (UTC)

Tips[]

Meh, not sure if I agree entirely with the wording. Sound advice in general perhaps - however, by taking a few precautions you can survive in the jungle long enough to harvest the ingredients necessary to craft a Thorn Chakram, which is a game-changer early in the game.

Consider that you can build a tunnel shaft around you as you go, which negates the constant threat of being shot at by hornets - the largest threat by far. Bats can be fended off by simply swinging your pickaxe as you dig, they can't touch you unless you have the misfortune of running into a swarm - unlikely, given that you build a tunnel shaft around you. Finally, man eaters are a major hazard but even in silver armor they deal a lot of damage per hit so it's not like you can tank them once you have silver armor. In short, silver armor does not afford you any new tactical options. Obtaining a strong ranged weapon would have more of an effect, as it would free you from the need to patiently wait at the correct range so you can poke at them with your sword until they (eventually) die.

Once you craft the chakram you're good to go as it's a huge step up from most other early-game weapons, making survival very much easier as you can now kill things in a few shots (at range, and even bounce-able off terrain and obstacles) so you no longer need to cringe away from the jungle critters. - Spinfx 16:54, 2 September 2012 (UTC)

Temple[]

Has anyone found what is that key that opens the entrance? There seems to be similar biome-themed keys on some of the Dungeon chests. A rare chest drop perhaps? --Heireau (talk) 08:27, 2 October 2013 (UTC)

the temple key dropped by Plantera can open the temple. Chests inside the temple contain powercells along with the usual wooden/golden chest loot (excluding weapons and alike)--193.190.154.173 14:33, 15 October 2013 (UTC)

Terraria 1.2 & artificial jungle[]

I don't know from when it has changed, but for now, i'v tryed : You can make the biome with only 80 block instead of 150. Also, someone could write a bit more about this to help confused players : the original page talk about "an area with 150 tiles", but don't explain how it work at all (area ? what area ?). It look's like that the game count every block around you in a radius of 50 blocks, and if there is anought block of jungle, you get the biome (increased spamm of mob). You do not need to actually see the block of jungle to be in a jungle biome : it can be off screen at the bottom, as exemple. (not talk needed about what mob spawn, it's explained in the page "NPC spawning") I won't change the page because i'm not sure to explain everything clear, it's not my main language. But someone that already change & help in this wiki before could do it, if people feel it could help new players.

Corruption/Crimson Spread[]

This page says evil spread slows by one third when Plantera is killed (not sure why that's even stated here, but anyway), the Plantera page says it slows to one third. Anyone know which is correct?—BlueMana (talk) 01:41, 8 May 2015 (UTC)

It's most likely to be by as to would not make much sense— Preceding unsigned comment added by C74SS1F13D (talkcontribs) at 08:38, 8 May 2015
According to the source code, if Plantera has been defeated, the spread has a 2/3 chance of failing. This would mean that it is slowed to 1/3 of the normal speed, or slowed from 100% to 33%. --KM100 (talk) 01:07, 9 May 2015 (UTC)

Worldspawn[]

The page says that the jungle can spawn in wiew of world spawn. I once spawned in the middle of a large jungle. Is this normal? IndigoGolum (talk) 15:15, 16 September 2018 (UTC)
