Maybe my eyes are just slow, but I don't see the door moving upward. It looks more to me like it all vanishes at once, as if it were sliding perpendicular to the plane of the screen, like an elevator door. This would also explain why it doesn't take up any space above the door when it opens, as it should if it were actually moving up.Ptorquemada (talk) 20:30, 15 August 2015 (UTC)
Tall gates are Impregnable.[edit source]
Tall gates ARE impregnable! This time i do have a Edit that can be added. With a “Mound” or road bump of 3 blocks, tall gates can still be opened by npcs and still block enemy npcs.
    /// |||| \\\ ____ 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6.
1 right leaning block 2 normal block 3 left leaning block 4 no block/floor 5 Tall Gate 6 no block/floor
This could be a way to block enemies from breaking down the regular doors too, but regular npc wont walk through them. The talk gate works though. I found this out on ps4. Patriotgrimm (talk) 19:16, 1 May 2019 (UTC)
- I would like to make sure I have understood you correctly. Does the following screenshot accurately represent your concept?

It seems the Eclipse npc Fritz can still break the tall gate even with the “bump” due to his being smaller.

Tip 1[edit source]
Tall gates can be useful when wanting to access NPCs or Rooms while riding mount (e.g. Cart, Unicorn, Brain Scrambler). Entering a room without having to dismount can be particularly useful for players who use a mount while fighting bosses and have the Nurse in a room next to Arena for heals. 18.104.22.168 08:04, 18 March 2020 (UTC)
