Wall of Flesh Treasure Bag[edit source]

The treasure bag from Wall of Flesh seems to be giving the emblem that correspond to the weapon you are carrying. I didnt try with empty hands. NutellaTactical (talk) 20:22, 31 July 2015 (UTC)

It's random. People who happen to get the emblem that matches their weapon tend to assume there's a correlation, but it's completely random. Equazcion (talk) 21:10, 31 Jul 2015 (UTC)
My first remark (not a statement) was made after a few tests where i got only ranger emblems while using a bow to defeat WoF. Then i asked myself if there was a link between the held item and the emblem obtained. I then used bananarangs and obtained melee emblems. My last test was with a summoning staff where i got a summoner emblem. I came here to discuss this strange behavior. Looks like RNGesus played with me. In short, i didn't made a correlation with a one-time attempt but did try. For my next experiment i'll try to see if there is a link between people who write their names in bold and big-headed people. --NutellaTactical (talk) 00:38, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
There's no need to resort to snippy comments. Even if you weren't making the assertion that the two were correlated (though your use of the word "correspond" seems to belie your newfound intentions) this is not a forum to discuss oddities of the random number generator. The only valid point of discussion relevant to this wiki is the drop rates stated in the source code, which Equazcion reiterated as appropriate. Be unsurprised if comments to the contrary, be they assertions, claims, queries or otherwise, are met with factual statements. Gearzein (talk) 00:59, 5 August 2015 (UTC)

Drop Rates[edit source]

I noticed that some drop rates on the boss pages are different from the ones here. For example the 33% rate drops from the Queen Bee Treasure Bag are 66% rate drops on the Queen Bee boss page. I didn't check all pages to see if there are more of these differences. That's just what I noticed while looking something up. Someone who knows the exact rates could edit them to the right values. -TheFrostSpark (talk) 21:02, 21 August 2015 (UTC)

Seedler[edit source]

Is the Seedler not a possible drop on Expert Plantera? Plantera's page says it's a 14.29% drop, but it's missing from the Treasure Bag list Adaniel87 (talk) 17:36, 31 August 2015 (UTC)

Inconsistency[edit source]

At the top of the page:

"Treasure bags are client-side and will despawn if you exit the world." (Seems normal enough.) In the "Developer Items" section:

"Obtaining a Treasure Bag in an Expert world, then opening the bag in a Normal world will retain the Treasure Bag's chance to yield developer items."

If the first is true, the second cannot possibly be true, unless someone cheated to have a Treasure Bag in a Normal world. The only other way I could see this working is if the Bag is put in a safe/piggy bank, which is never explained. --DarkShinyLugia (talk) 22:58, 9 October 2016 (UTC)

Just tested this, you're right, treasure bags do not despawn when exiting a world nor do they despawn when exiting the game. TOTORO01 (talk) 23:18, 9 October 2016 (UTC)

Treasure Bag drop in the Bosses' pages[edit source]

All is in the title, I think it would be more practical to have the content of each bag in their respective Boss page than have to go in this page to know what are the trues drop rate (as they are different than the normal mode drop rate) --Lightg4 (talk) 09:28, 16 October 2016 (UTC)

Slime Gun Error?[edit source]

I've noticed that under the Slime King page and Slime Gun page the chances of the Slime Gun dropping are 2/3 chance, but here it says that the gun has a 50% drop chance. Is that an error, or is it actually a 50/50 chance in Treasure Bags? 99.74.38.102 04:50, 27 February 2018 (UTC)

Queen Bee gold rates[edit source]

In normal mode, I can assume that it is 10 gold (as seen on the boss page), but in the expert mode bag, it is VERY different. I've actually never got 10 gold, instead, I've received anywhere been 25-40 gold (after selling loot, upwards of a total of 40-70 gold). Could someone double check the drop tables for queen bee's treasure bag? (Other gold rates as well, at this point) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pazon123 (talkcontribs) at 18:00, 8 July 2018

How sure are you about that "25-40 gold"? At a glance, treasure bags drops npc.value, with +-20% variance, and has four separate chances to up the value by 5-10, 10-20, 15-30, 20-40 percent. At most it would be 100000*1.2*1.1*1.2*1.3*1.4=28gold 82silver 88copper. If you've gotten more than that, then there's probably some other place where value gets modified that I haven't noticed yet. Either way, describing the mechanic on the page would probably be excessive, having a min-max range(80000*8 Gold Coin.png - 288288*28 Gold Coin.png 82 Silver Coin.png 88 Copper Coin.png) wouldn't look nice either. Maybe just mention -20% +288% variance in the top section? 86.115.19.146 06:15, 9 July 2018 (UTC)
On the second glance, same applies to all money dropped by npcs, so it's not treasure bag specific, and apparently already mentioned on NPC_drops#Coin_Drops. 86.115.19.146 12:28, 9 July 2018 (UTC)

Dev Item PC/Console/Mobile[edit source]

It shows that a lot of dev items are PC/Console only content yet I have a pair of Cenx’s wing’s myself. This is confusing. I might like some help fixing this. *King_Nun_Fan* (talk) 12:02, 15 October 2019 (UTC) 11:57, 15 October 2019 (UTC)

As of Mobile 1.3.0.7.5, all listed developer sets, save for Arkhalis's and Leinfors's set, are available on Mobile. For me, they all display the Mobile version icon. Are there some missing for you? Did you make sure to clear your cache and purge the page? --Rye Greenwood (talk) 17:09, 16 October 2019 (UTC)
