Main article: Pylons

The Universal Pylon is a Hardmode, post-Moon Lord Pylon obtained by completing 100% of the Bestiary, at which point it will be sold by the Zoologist for 1.

It can be placed anywhere, and used in any biome. Unlike other Pylon variants, it does not require a nearby NPC to function.

Only one Universal Pylon can be placed in a world.

Notes[]

  • Attempting to use the Universal Pylon in a Jungle Temple before Plantera is defeated will result with the status message "Ancient forces prevent you from accessing this location . . .".

Tips[]

  • The Universal Pylon can be used as a kind of Potion of Return, allowing players to place the Universal Pylon, teleport to their base, and then teleport back to the Universal Pylon from a Pylon in their base.
  • Notable places that do not have their own Pylons include the Dungeon, Jungle Temple, and Space.
    • While the Underworld does not have its own pylon, the Demon Conch and Shellphone are available to teleport to there from anywhere.
    • Additionally, a Cavern Pylon will function in the Underworld.
  • The Universal Pylon is impossible to obtain in a world using the For the worthy seed, as all normal Bunnies are replaced with their Explosive Bunny counterpart, and there are no Demons that spawn without voodoo dolls.
    • This can be circumvented by waiting for the bunnies to return back to normal after a party, demons cannot.

Trivia[]

  • The tooltip is a reference to the 1998 military science fiction real-time strategy game StarCraft.[1]
  • The Universal Pylon is the only Pylon without a nearby NPC requirement.
