Drops[edit | edit source]

As discussed with Happypal, I was doing adjusted drop rates. They are adjusted after the if...else.. code --KoreRekon 02:29, 11 June 2011 (UTC) I replied to you on my talk page. I also started work on a Drops page, which I haven't finished, I just wanted a place to talk about the format of the Drops section. I'd like to spend some time with my wife, so I'm done for now --03:34, 11 June 2011 (UTC)

Possible?[edit | edit source]

Since the wiki opened, I have been evaluating the community participation of users, their understanding of how wikis work, their proficiency with the software, and overall level of contributions in the hopes of finding the gems among the pebbles. I think you qualify as a gem, and am wondering if you would be interested in becoming an admin. To be successful any wiki needs a sound foundation to build on, and sound leadership to keep it going in the right direction, and I think you would fit the role pretty well. Don't get me wrong, the role of admin carries a lot of strictly janitorial work, and during vandal attacks can drive you nuts. If you are interested, please make sure to review Terraria Wiki:Administrator Guide and then let me know by posting here. -- Wynthyst Curseicon.png talk 09:03, 16 June 2011 (UTC)

Thank you for the offer. I would love to be an admin. I have read Terraria Wiki:Administrator Guide and I think I will be able to handle it. ~Null(T-C) 21:02, 16 June 2011 (UTC)
Grats Null :) -- ❤Kalilla❤ 10:48, 17 June 2011 (UTC)
Done. Congrats Null. Please feel free to contact me or Happypal if you have any questions about anything. I just ask that changes to system messages (MediaWiki namespace) get my approval first. I know you will do fine. -- Wynthyst Curseicon.png talk 10:52, 17 June 2011 (UTC)
Welcome to the team. happypal (talk • contribs) 10:53, 17 June 2011 (UTC)

Moves[edit | edit source]

When you move a page, make sure you tick "Move sub pages" when it is there, it means there are subpages: mostly language, but sometimes also talk, like floating island research. These pages need to be moved too. happypal (talk • contribs) 19:30, 17 June 2011 (UTC)

Okay, thanks for the notice ~Null(T-C) 20:23, 17 June 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for the link[edit | edit source]

Working on finding all the info and screenshots in game now, I plan to work on processing and polishing the raw data soon though. (I am also fairly new to this wiki so I have a ways to go)

Sounds great. Quality over quantity :) Null(T-C) 21:29, 23 June 2011 (UTC)

Sincerely, Br3117

I got the Night's Edge and Voodoo Pictures up. I am not exactly satisfied with the Voodoo picture, as I had to stretch it a lot to make it visible, feel free to help. :P

Image Help[edit | edit source]

Thanks for the tip on image uploading, I appreciate the help. I am fairly new to this so it's good to get me on the right track. :)

Image extractor[edit | edit source]

[1] -- Wynthyst Curseicon.png talk 16:56, 24 June 2011 (UTC)

WOW! Thanks so much! Works perfectly! Null(T-C) 17:02, 24 June 2011 (UTC)
Um... NO.. do not upload the strips. Crop an individual image. Thanks! -- Wynthyst Curseicon.png talk 17:31, 24 June 2011 (UTC)
Oh, like the snatcher? I was wondering why those were like that. Sorry. Null(T-C) 17:32, 24 June 2011 (UTC)

Editing the Main page[edit | edit source]

I know it may seem unnecessary, but please include all your changes to the Editcopy version of the mainpage as well. We need to keep them in sync so that if people are proposing changes there, they are proposing changes to what is ACTUALLY on the mainpage. :D -- Wynthyst Curseicon.png talk 21:18, 24 June 2011 (UTC)

Ah. Okay will do :) Null(T-C) 21:36, 24 June 2011 (UTC)

Regarding image redirects[edit | edit source]

Is it ok to redirect image file links from the Portuguese Translation Project directly to the english wiki? This way when the project members use the Item Link Template, the image appears without needing to upload any new image files. I don't know if there is something wrong with that, someone asked me to stop creating redirects so I thought it would be better to ask an admin before continuing.--User:Shrooms 16:47, 25 June 2011 (UTC)

I would rather you do something else. -- Wynthyst Curseicon.png talk 16:58, 25 June 2011 (UTC)
Yeah thanks sorry for double asking about the thing. All good to go now.--User:Shrooms 17:07, 25 June 2011 (UTC)

Plants[edit | edit source]

hey, why did you move the information from the pages there?

my idea was to transclude (part of) the pages Grass, Mushrooms and Herbs.

everything that fits on the Plants page gets transcluded, everything else is put between <noinclude></noinclude> tags. ‒ Flying sheep 22:43, 25 June 2011 (UTC)

While I applaud this, the page itself needs to be usable (which is why I made the edits I did that have since been removed). The infobox does not belong, the nav box would be more appropriate..... it's obviously not working the way it is suppose to. -- Wynthyst Curseicon.png talk 23:19, 25 June 2011 (UTC)
i fixed it: Null forgot the / in his </includeonly> close tag and somehow reverted your change.
@Null: is there any particular reason for <includeonly></includeonly> tags on Herbs? I think the table is fine on that page. ‒ Flying sheep 00:17, 26 June 2011 (UTC)
Yes, because that table isn't talking about items it's talking about plants Null(T-C) 00:29, 26 June 2011 (UTC)
And also about the items, because e.g. they yield seeds when blooming, and link to the pages where crafting information is. you can’t separate plant items and plants, just like you can’t separate wepapons and weapon items. – Flying sheep 15:26, 26 June 2011 (UTC)

Awww[edit | edit source]

Sigh... I was doing that :( Now I have nothing to do.....-- Wynthyst Curseicon.png talk 16:57, 26 June 2011 (UTC)

LOL. At Silver Bar and a few others, there's 3 px lines when the crafting spot changes. They look kinda bad to me at the bottom (below silver chandelier, iron chain, and iron anvil). Keep those?

Columns[edit | edit source]

I'm working on an improvement to the Weapons List page and I've stumbled on a situation where using columns would be ideal. However, I'm unsure how to do this without the column templates. Is there any other way than to copy the source from the column template pages on Wikipedia then paste them here onto new templates? Sorry for bothering you, and thanks in advance. --ILiaWneK 22:33, 26 June 2011 (UTC)

First, no problem. Second, like style="border-(left, right, top, bottom):(width)px solid #(color)"? Null(T-C) 22:46, 26 June 2011 (UTC)
I think it would be best if I actually show you what I'm intending to do: User:ILiaWneK/Weapons List. I'm wanting the key table at the very bottom to go into the empty space at the side of the main table. Is that at all possible? --ILiaWneK 10:36, 27 June 2011 (UTC)
I actually really lime that idea. Looks so much cleaner without "Cost/Source" too. In the key on the second note, I think it should be a bit clearer (+ 3 stars, 15 damage each) Null(T-C) 13:59, 27 June 2011 (UTC)
Thank you very much. There's a bunch of other "list" pages that I intend on cleaning up too, so if you approve this then I'll go and change it :). --ILiaWneK 09:47, 29 June 2011 (UTC)
Great job on the list. So much better than before. Good luck on other lists. --NullTalk 14:05, 29 June 2011 (UTC)

I guess I will have to make an account.[edit | edit source]

The only way I could be unbanned was if I contacted you. In order to contact you I would need an account. I couldn't make an account though as I was banned leading me to a silly paradox. Glad you noticed as this stupid paradox made it impossible for me to contact you. Why did I get accidentally banned anyways? --71.55.138.194 01:52, 27 June 2011 (UTC)

I know, I'm very sorry. I just misclicked your name, as it's hard to click the exact ip. Don't worry, nothing bad happened. :) Null(T-C) 01:53, 27 June 2011 (UTC)
It's fine. I made an account now so its much more easy to identify me. It's too bad I don't get credit for all the edits I've done under an anonymous name though... --Moxxy 02:06, 27 June 2011 (UTC)

Jared3000[edit | edit source]

Er, why was this user perma-banned for one misplaced/improper edit? --JonTheMon 01:55, 27 June 2011 (UTC)

I requested his ban, I was hoping for a day or two so he could know what he did was wrong and read up on why his edit was reverted and why he was banned. A permaban is way too much. --Moxxy 02:04, 27 June 2011 (UTC)
A ban was inappropriate for a first offense of such minor consequence. Please use the Terraria Wiki:Admin noticeboard if you wish to report vandalism or misbehavior. -- Wynthyst Curseicon.png talk 02:15, 27 June 2011 (UTC)
I will make sure to do that next time. --Moxxy 02:19, 27 June 2011 (UTC)

Image cropping[edit | edit source]

I would prefer it if you didn't crop the game file images. There is no need to do so. -- Wynthyst Curseicon.png talk 02:13, 27 June 2011 (UTC)

AWB[edit | edit source]

Are you using AWB or another type of bot at all? -- Wynthyst Curseicon.png talk 02:46, 27 June 2011 (UTC)

Tried it out and failed. How did you know? Null(T-C) 03:19, 27 June 2011 (UTC)
Api.php :D Just so you know, Curse wikis have an issue with AWB due to the installation configuration that is used. I'd also prefer that any bots had their own accounts, so that bot edits can be watched. -- Wynthyst Curseicon.png talk 03:21, 27 June 2011 (UTC)
Lol. Well I wont be using it again. Null(T-C) 03:22, 27 June 2011 (UTC)
Do you use MSN? If so, add me... aerowyn420@hotmail.com -- Wynthyst Curseicon.png talk 03:23, 27 June 2011 (UTC)
Sadly, no. I can give you my email if you need it. Null(T-C) 03:29, 27 June 2011 (UTC)
Too bad :( oh well -- Wynthyst Curseicon.png talk 03:30, 27 June 2011 (UTC)
>420 How old is that e-mail? I chuckled when I saw that. --Moxxy 03:32, 27 June 2011 (UTC)
I chuckled when I saw those html tags on Breath meter. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Null (talk).
About 18 years give or take... -- Wynthyst Curseicon.png talk 03:37, 27 June 2011 (UTC)
Though the 420 made me chuckle the html tags took the cake. --Moxxy 03:39, 27 June 2011 (UTC)

Terraria DAT Files[edit | edit source]

I wanted to play around a little bit with the files, but my pc can't open any of them. Are there any trustworthy programs you would suggest I get to open them? --Kitty553 10:16, 29 June 2011 (UTC)

To open image files (XNB), see here. --NullTalk 14:20, 29 June 2011 (UTC):
Thanks, but I was talking about the .dat files like config.dat --Kitty553 10:29, 29 June 2011 (UTC)
Oh sorry, but to be completely honest I don't have a config.dat or any other dats o.O --NullTalk 14:35, 29 June 2011 (UTC)
Strange. Maybe it has something to do with the operating system. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. Or maybe the three-eyed cantalouprune has finally awoken. --Kitty553 10:41, 29 June 2011
LOL I'm such an idiot, looking in my install folder. config.dat shows all your preferences. There's not really a way to edit it, but you can delete it to restore settings to defaults. --NullTalk 14:46, 29 June 2011 (UTC)
Oh, okai. I'll find something else to break instead. --Kitty553 11:03, 29 June 2011

To Do List[edit | edit source]

Does one exist? --ILiaWneK 19:14, 29 June 2011 (UTC)

Not really, but there's 2 non-language projects to do, the Terraria Wiki talk:Community portal has some suggestions, and also just adding "Used in" tables on all crafting materials. --NullTalk 19:47, 29 June 2011 (UTC)

Wisdom bring plz[edit | edit source]

Talk:Swords Thanks. --JonTheMon 19:25, 19 August 2011 (UTC)

Earlier on that talk page you were against merging Swords into Melee Weapons, but your most recent post says that you now are. If it's not too bothersome, could you explain what changed between those two points? --JonTheMon 14:14, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
I'm not sure which post you're talking about, could you post a link please? --NullTalk 17:00, 22 August 2011 (UTC)

Translations[edit | edit source]

Heya :D you need to make sure those translation pages have the project template as well so they get categorized properly. :D -- Wynthyst Curseicon.png talk 03:57, 20 August 2011 (UTC)

Signature[edit | edit source]

Have you ever noticed the Wiki Rule regarding signatures? You might want to read it... soon. -- Wynthyst Curseicon.png talk 05:46, 29 August 2011 (UTC)

Is it that it uses a template? It's to make editing my signature apply to all pages. Also, I've noticed my sig is a bit larger than regular text. --NullTalk 13:06, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
Templates in signatures have been banned for this very reason actually: They are prime vandalism targets, and because they eventually become used on a lot of page, touching the template can heavily impact the servers. Think of it this way: Once signed, it's signed. happypal (talk • contribs) 13:10, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
Alright, makes sense. I'll fix that :P --NullTalk 22:05, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
