New sprite for Mythril Armor?[]

Can you do me a favor. There is a new sprite for the Mythril Armor, so I want you to update the sprite of the Mythril Armor. Thanks and please respond ASAP. --IosKent (Talk Page - Contribs) 09:29, 31 July 2016 (UTC)--

M13K has already done this at Mythril armor and Mythril armor female, he didn't update the mythril armour page though. Eraloiz (talk) 10:20, 31 July 2016 (UTC)

I am done updating the page, so I think this is done. Well thanks M13K, Haha. Well thank you for your respond and your answer. --IosKent (Talk Page - Contribs) 10:31, 31 July 2016 (UTC)--

Console? Mobile?[]

Hi :) I just saw you updated a Console/Mobile page with rarity info. Which platform do you use? I'm compiling a list of editors I can count on to help with looking up console/mobile information (as well as code-checkers). – Ferretwings (talk) 00:11, 5 August 2016 (UTC)

I only like to use the PC version even though I have the 3DS and mobile versions too. I actually got the rarity info from this youtube video (https://youtube.com/4rrPfgY-WVw?t=23s at around 23 seconds in), and I'm also able to check the PC version code. Eraloiz (talk) 00:33, 5 August 2016 (UTC)

Armor/vanity item sprites.[]

I just want to say you that armor sprites look like got updated in 1.3.2 not 1.3.1. Only their weapons and other items in 1.3.1 did, ... And I edited Cobalt, Adamantite and Halloweed armor pages. I didn't upload new psrites of their inventory item icons. I quess is it now your job? I think after three dyas I will upload new sprite of clowns and hero vanity set. And aren't actually characters wearing Oktoberfest sets somehow strange looking? Did you get their leg size right? I am kinda sure female chacreter have thinner legs. M31k (talk) 15:57, 19 August 2016 (UTC)

Thanks, I wasn't sure when the sprites were updated, so I just put 1.3.1 because a lot of other sprites were updated then too. As for the Oktoberfest costumes, I had a 240p Youtube video to base them on (since they're unobtainable and I don't know how to inventory edit on IOS), so I'm pretty sure they're inaccurate. If you'd like to make a better version I can try and upload the files for you. Eraloiz (talk) 19:23, 19 August 2016 (UTC)

Image uploads[]

I wanted to thank you for all the images you've uploaded. I noticed you've uploaded a number of projectile images, and I began to wonder if we should include the projectile id in the image description. When you find these projectile images, do they have an id associated with the file? Or would one need to search for the id? – Ferretwings (talk) 13:57, 24 August 2016 (UTC)

No problem! and yes, all images are named by id in Terraria (Example: Projectile_1.png = Wooden Arrow). If I can remember to, I'll include the projectile id in the description of future image uploads. Eraloiz (talk) 14:10, 24 August 2016 (UTC)

That would be great, thanks :) I noticed we now have 2 Rainbow projectile sprites uploaded - the one you uploaded today Rainbow (projectile), and one uploaded in May by User:PowerManXD Rainbow Projectile. Is one for ID 250, and the other for ID 251? Or was the sprite updated in 1.3.2? – Ferretwings (talk) 18:32, 24 August 2016 (UTC)

I noticed this too after I uploaded it. Projectile ID 250 and 251 are the same image and they weren't updated in 1.3.2, though I rotated it to be like the bullet projectile images. Feel free to delete it since it's basically a duplicate file. Eraloiz (talk) 19:09, 24 August 2016 (UTC)

Ok, will do. In the past, some editors flipped images (this was long ago), and you end up confusing new editors (and new admins) when images don't quite match. I'm going to set up some guidelines for everybody to follow (pending the other admins' approval of course) for image uploading and naming. "No image manipulation (this includes flipping and rotating" will definitely be in the guidelines, lol! At some point, I'm going to ask for help to upload some NPC images that were flipped (I had to mirror a number of images on the NPC page to have them all look in the same direction).
I have 2 questions regarding the game filenames:
  • Would the Rainbow projectile be listed as "Projectile_250.png = Rainbow"? And "Projectile_438 = Laser Ray"?
  • Is there any association with the source of the projectile (the source for Laser Ray is Ray Gunner, ID 382)? Or is the association made elsewhere in the code?
I really should crack open my game and take a peek under the hood. – Ferretwings (talk) 20:12, 24 August 2016 (UTC)
I don't really want to barge in on this conversation, but there is a ProjectileID.cs that contains all the internal names of the projectiles in a neat list.
example: public const short RainbowFront = 250;
Looking through Projectile.cs contains the in-game names, but it's a little more to scroll through. There's no easy way to find the source of a projectile, though, but it's normally not that hard to figure it out from the image, internal name, and in-game name. If you still couldn't figure it out you could search the code.
PowerManXD (talk) 21:03, 24 August 2016 (UTC)
Thanks 4e696e6a6f795844 :) I finally decompiled my game and I feel like a kid in a candy store, lol!
Have either of you come across sprites of NPCs wearing their Party Hats? A player suggested that the NPCs on the Party page should be in their party hats :) Actually, I think the player wanted a "group shot" of all of them. I might be able to get a group shot, but it will take a while (I only have one world with all the NPCs, and I need to Clentaminate the world really badly). – Ferretwings (talk) 04:30, 30 August 2016 (UTC)
Nope, the game seems to place party hats on top of a sprite with the NPC's without hair. They're named sorta like this: NPC_[NPCID]_Alt_1
It is posible to edit the hats on, though, as the hats are the last 4 Gore_# files of their type.
So an editor could look at the NPCs in-game and edit each one on similar to how the game places them.

Rollback[]

I've added the "rollback" feature to your account at Terraria Wiki. Please have a look at this post for some important information about this tool, and how it is to be used. Thanks, and feel free to contact me with any questions. Equazcion (talk) 18:25, 31 Aug 2016 (UTC)

Lihzahrd Power Cell‎ craftable on 3DS?[]

Recent edits suggest that the Lihzahrd Power Cell‎ is craftable on the 3DS. I checked the forums, and others claim it as well. If you can find the recipe, that would be awesome :) From what I've gathered, it requires: 10 glass, 25 fallen stars, and 10 adamantite. But would that be Adamantite Ore? And I would need to know which crafting station, as well. If you haven't reached hardmode yet, there are a couple of other editors I can ask. Does the Guide help you with crafting recipes? I understand on some platforms he doesn't give crafting help. – Ferretwings (talk) 17:53, 4 September 2016 (UTC)

Nevermind... I see an editor has already filled in the recipe :) – Ferretwings (talk) 22:10, 4 September 2016 (UTC)

Note[]

Just informing you that the male variation uses the jacket, and the female version uses a strip of cloth.
The female version can be found at Female_Body_199. 4e696e6a6f795844 (talk) 19:44, 9 September 2016 (UTC)

I'm not entirely sure what you're talking about. Do you mean the Lamia clothes? The images should be the exact same as they are in-game. Eraloiz (talk) 21:02, 9 September 2016 (UTC)

I don't have the full set, but It seems that the female variation doesn't have the jacket. Maybe the jacket shows up with the full set? 4e696e6a6f795844 (talk) 21:07, 9 September 2016 (UTC)

Ah, it seems as if I was mistaken. The jacket shows up with the full set, I'll note that with the article. 4e696e6a6f795844 (talk) 21:14, 9 September 2016 (UTC)

NPC images[]

The NPC images actually shouldn't be flipped. Some were flipped when the wiki was first being set up, and we really need to un-flip them. If you could un-flip them, that would be great! :) – Ferretwings (talk) 14:00, 4 October 2016 (UTC)

Sorry! I just assumed the images needed to be flipped to the left, since they were facing left on the NPC page. So you want them all flipped to the right? or just revert the images I flipped? Eraloiz (talk) 14:35, 4 October 2016 (UTC)

All NPC images should face left, as they do in the game files. When I first began editing, I didn't know how to locate and upload the image files, so I used a mirror template on the NPC page to make all the NPCs face left. If you edit the page, you'll see which images I needed to mirror. Once the new left-facing images are uploaded, I'll remove the mirror templates. Off the top of my head, I know the Guide and Merchant are currently facing right. Actually, I'll remove the mirroring now, so you can more easily see which images need the be flipped from right to left. – Ferretwings (talk) 04:48, 5 October 2016 (UTC)

uploads[]

Hey, just wondering how and from where do you upload these images and updated sprites? Thanks,TOTORO01 (talk) 11:03, 11 October 2016 (UTC)

If you're using Steam, they should be in your C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Terraria\Content\Images stored as .xnb files. You'll need to run an "xnb to png" converter. – Ferretwings (talk) 12:23, 11 October 2016 (UTC)
Okay, thanks!TOTORO01 (talk) 01:06, 12 October 2016 (UTC)
How about If I am not using Steam? Can I still get the images? --IosKent (Talk Page - Contribs) 01:24, 31 October 2016 (UTC)--
IosKent, which platform are you using? – Ferretwings (talk) 05:23, 31 October 2016 (UTC)
I am mobile, I am just asking. Because I have Terraria in my Mac, not from Steam. --IosKent (Talk Page - Contribs) 05:35, 31 October 2016 (UTC)--
I found some information here: http://forums.terraria.org/index.php?threads/textract-extract-terrarias-images-sound-effects-and-music.937/Ferretwings (talk) 05:59, 31 October 2016 (UTC)
I found some more info. To find where the Terraria files were installed, check the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\re-logic\terraria\install_path. – Ferretwings (talk) 06:32, 31 October 2016 (UTC)

Ok thanks. --IosKent (Talk Page - Contribs) 07:07, 31 October 2016 (UTC)--

Upload Projectile GIF or IMAGE[]

I noticed a user made an edit, the summary is the user added Bladetonge in the Projectile melee weapons page, but without the projectile. Can you upload the Bladetounge projectile gif or image. Thanks --IosKent (Talk Page - Contribs) 01:23, 31 October 2016 (UTC)--

Done. Eraloiz (talk)

Hair Dye on Mobile version[]

Mobile version The Hair Dye page is contradictory. First, it says that Hair Dye cannot be placed into the player's inventory, and then under Notes, it says it can. They cannot both be correct. An editor tried to clear up the misunderstanding, but his edit got reverted. Could you please check on this? If you look in the page's history, you can see the edit. If the edit was correct, we should re-instate it. Thanks :) (I'm asking this of all known mobile users, since I don't know who'll be able to get to it first) – Ferretwings (talk) 04:44, 14 November 2016 (UTC)

Okay, I believe I've made some sense of it. If you could look over my edit, and see if it looks right, I'd be grateful :) :) – Ferretwings (talk) 05:09, 14 November 2016 (UTC)

Updates[]

Hey, just a quick question, where do you get all the picture files and item details every update? LordofEditing (talk) 20:35, 15 November 2016 (UTC)

Admin[]

Due to your long-term quality work here, I just made you an admin.

I just wanted to note that the reason this took so long is because your lack of communication had me hesitant -- on an active wiki I would usually only promote people who show lots of communication, so that I can see whether they are willing to respond to requests for help, have the ability to communicate well, and will respond maturely when there's an issue with something they did.

I'm just asking you to bear that in mind for the future. If someone does try to communicate with you I hope you'll be willing to respond and hopefully do so in a mature manner (not that I don't think you're mature, but I just don't have much evidence one way or the other, as you haven't said very much publicly).

If you have any questions about the admin tools feel free to ask me or one of your fellow active admins here. Good luck! Equazcion (talk) 18:45, 5 Apr 2017 (UTC)

Thanks, I'll try to do my best! Eraloiz (talk) 19:17, 19 April 2017 (UTC)

3DS version localization[]

Hey Eraloiz, I noticed that you got the English localization of the 3DS version and I was wondering if you could get another languages as well such as French or German. -- Dinoxel talk 18:17, 7 January 2020 (UTC)

Uploaded them all to a git repo here (also added the link on my user page). Zapinator is missing, but I've checked in-game and it doesn't seem to have a localized name. Eraloiz (talk) 18:48, 7 January 2020 (UTC)
This is perfect! Thank you very much! --Dinoxel talk 19:53, 7 January 2020 (UTC)
A big thank you from me as well! --Rye Greenwood (talk) 19:54, 7 January 2020 (UTC)
Also, I feel like I should note that even though strings for items like dyes, mounts and 1.2.4 items are present (I’m guessing they just copied the files from one of the mobile versions), it doesn’t necessarily mean those exist in-game. Eraloiz (talk) 22:44, 7 January 2020 (UTC)

Sounds[]

Just wanted to say a quick thank you for your tireless work researching and adding all different kinds of sounds. That's appreciated! --Rye Greenwood (talk) 22:37, 11 May 2020 (UTC)

A small issue I noticed the other day is that Red's Throw and the Valkyrie Yoyo's use sounds aren't being added automatically to their infoboxes. Seems like they're missing the value entirely from Module:Iteminfo/data? --Eraloiz (talk) 22:54, 11 May 2020 (UTC)
I see... perhaps because of the
	case 3287:
	case 3288:
part in SetDefaults4(), as opposed to the other single case lines in that section? I don't know; I think I used some obscure, intricate regex contraptions to get the sounds from the source code and integrate them into the existing data module, so it wouldn't be surprising if they failed on that part. I've added the two sounds to the data module now, but it will be properly rebuilt once the 1.4 source code is available anyway.
--Rye Greenwood (talk) 23:19, 11 May 2020 (UTC)

Queen Slime page[]

You protected the Queen Slime page, but unfortunately did it right when it got re-vandalized, now I can't fix it. Could you do it, please? --172.58.175.108 14:15, 19 May 2020 (UTC)

Wait, nevermind. Somebody else got to it. Sorry. --172.58.175.108 14:16, 19 May 2020 (UTC)

Hello![]

Hi! :) --89.31.57.5 19:21, 24 May 2020 (UTC)

Hey! --Eraloiz (talk) 19:24, 24 May 2020 (UTC)

Contents sections on pages.[]

I think we should make a separate heading of the contents sections of biome pages about the generated blocks, vegetation and other environnement objects. Also is Unique Drops subheading necessary or we should rename to Enemy Drops. --Superwill771 (talk) 16:22, 5 July 2020 (UTC)

The Desert page seems to already have something like this with its "from vegetation" and "from terrain" sections. That format looks fine to me. --Eraloiz (talk) 15:29, 6 July 2020 (UTC)

Colors[]

Hey! There is one more instance of "colours" on the wiki here. Since the page is protected, could you please finish it off for me? :] PuzzledKino (talk) 06:05, 10 August 2020 (UTC)

Sure! Done. --Eraloiz (talk) 06:12, 10 August 2020 (UTC)

Site background files[]

Hey Eraloiz, thank you for uploading the site background files and for your CSS edits in general – the FandomDesktop skin looks much better already, better than I anticipated! I wonder, though, how you managed to upload the files. I downloaded them from File:Site-background-light and File:Site-background-dark to upload them on the DE wiki and the other language wikis, but the Theme Designer keeps rejecting them. Whenever I attempt to put the file in the box, it doesn't appear there and instead the "Upload a .png, .jpg, max 1 MB" text turns red, even though both files are JPGs and merely a 100 KB. It works fine with other images. Could you maybe link me the source from where you got them originally? Not that that should actually change anything, but well, perhaps it works that way. --Rye Greenwood (talk) 23:20, 1 June 2021 (UTC)

That's strange. The light theme image was taken directly from Steam, and the dark theme image was just slightly darkened and desaturated. I've uploaded them both to Imgur here. --Eraloiz (talk) 23:42, 1 June 2021 (UTC)
Thanks! It worked with those images. I've also tried re-downloading the files from here, but after removing the ?cb=2021... timestamp part in the URL of the file. It worked then as well. Mysterious. --Rye Greenwood (talk) 00:00, 2 June 2021 (UTC)

Verification of an edit[]

Hey Eraloiz (or any admin in general), I had made an edit in the Notes section of the Lunar Events page quite recently because of something I had experienced. If I need to provide some sort of proof or verification that my edit is true and won't be marked as vandalism I will gladly do so. It is currently the latest revision on the page. Trialsphere (talk) 21:13, 12 June 2021 (UTC)

Theme swapper and "copy unsigned" as gadgets[]

Hi Eraloiz, I recently discovered the code for adding a "swap-theme-without-reloading" button and a "copy-unsigned-from-diff" button in your common.js and fandomdesktop.js. I believe this could be quite useful for several editors (myself included, haha), so would you mind turning these two functionalities into gadgets? --Rye Greenwood (talk) 08:24, 6 October 2021 (UTC)

Copy Unsigned and Upload Multiple Files are gadgeted. --Westgrass (talk) 09:21, 6 October 2021 (UTC)
Also added Theme Swappper. Feel free to improve the code/make any adjustments! --Eraloiz (talk) 09:51, 6 October 2021 (UTC)
Thank you both! --Rye Greenwood (talk) 10:59, 6 October 2021 (UTC)
I also ported Theme Swappper to Hydralize (the moon/sun icon at top right), and it will save the switching result to user perference. --Westgrass (talk) 14:49, 6 October 2021 (UTC)

How did you do the current rainbow bricks gif?[]

ClickerClass wants to do a gif for one of their armor sets that also changes color via shader and was wondering how you got such a clean gif. Any advice you can give, even help on how to do it manually, would be appreciated. Zombiezom1444 (talk) 05:52, 16 February 2022 (UTC)
