Fixing the Item IDs Page[edit source]

Hey there, I've been working on fixing some incositencies with the Item IDs Page. I've fixed a few, but there are a bit that I'm not sure how to fix as simply as I have with the others. Here's the list of the issues. I'm hoping you can figure out a way to make them show up on the IDs page without muddying up the original pages too much.

1. Dungeon Brick Walls

  • 135 - Blue Brick Wall
  • 138 - Green Brick Wall
  • 140 - Pink Brick Wall
  • 1378 - Blue Slab Wall
  • 1379 - Blue Tiled Wall
  • 1380 - Pink Slab Wall
  • 1381 - Pink Tiled Wall
  • 1382 - Green Slab Wall
  • 1383 - Green Tiled Wall

2. Emerald Robe

It looks like it's set up right. Not sure why it's not appearing.

  • 1285 - Emerald robe

3. Fish

The rest of the fish show up because they have separate pages

  • 2290 - Bass
  • 2297 - Trout
  • 2298 - Salmon
  • 2299 - Atlantic Cod
  • 2300 - Tuna
  • 2301 - Red Snapper
  • 2302 - Neon Tetra
  • 2303 - Armored Cavefish
  • 2304 - Damselfish
  • 2305 - Crimson Tigerfish
  • 2306 - Frost Minnow
  • 2307 - Princess Fish
  • 2308 - Golden Carp
  • 2309 - Specular Fish
  • 2310 - Prismite
  • 2311 - Variegated Lardfish
  • 2312 - Flarefin Koi
  • 2313 - Double Cod
  • 2315 - Obsidifish
  • 2316 - Shrimp
  • 2317 - Chaos Fish
  • 2318 - Ebonkoi
  • 2319 - Hemopiranha
  • 2321 - Stinkfish

4. Skiphs's Blood

This just shows up in the list as "Dye" and as a result has a broken link and image. If you go to the dyes page, each dye has the word "Dye" added to the end, so "Red Dye" is just called "Red" in the code. Since Skiph's blood doesn't have the word dye at the end, it's name is listed as "t=Skiphs's Blood" and I think that "t=" messes up the entry in the IDs page. It can't be removed however, because then on the dyes page it makes it "Skiphs's Blood Dye", which is wrong.

  • 3024 - Skiphs's Blood

5. Treasure Bag

  • 3318 - Treasure Bag (King Slime)
  • 3319 - Treasure Bag (Eye of Cthulhu)
  • 3320 - Treasure Bag (Eater of Worlds)
  • 3321 - Treasure Bag (Brain of Cthulhu)
  • 3322 - Treasure Bag (Queen Bee)
  • 3323 - Treasure Bag (Skeletron)
  • 3324 - Treasure Bag (Wall of Flesh)
  • 3325 - Treasure Bag (The Destroyer)
  • 3326 - Treasure Bag (The Twins)
  • 3327 - Treasure Bag (Skeletron Prime)
  • 3328 - Treasure Bag (Plantera)
  • 3329 - Treasure Bag (Golem)
  • 3330 - Treasure Bag (Duke Fishron)
  • 3331 - Treasure Bag (Lunatic Cultist)
  • 3332 - Treasure Bag (Moon Lord)
  • 3860 - Treasure Bag (Betsy)
  • 3861 - Treasure Bag (Dark Mage)
  • 3862 - Treasure Bag (Ogre)

6. Logic Gates

Could be fixed like the Luminite tool pages I edited, but might clutter the page too much

  • 3603 - Logic Gate (AND)
  • 3604 - Logic Gate (OR)
  • 3605 - Logic Gate (NAND)
  • 3606 - Logic Gate (NOR)
  • 3607 - Logic Gate (XOR)
  • 3608 - Logic Gate (NXOR)

7. Unused Trapped Chests

The rest of the trapped chests appear because they have crafting recipies.

  • 3705 - Trapped NewChest1
  • 3706 - Trapped NewChest2

Thanks for the help with these. If you could fix them that would be best, but guidelines on how I could fix these pages myself would work too. I've never edited a Wiki before, so I've been trying to learn as I go. I'm starting to understand this cargo stuff and how the item infoboxes work, but some of this goes over my head a lot. :) Also, sorry for this post being so big. I tried to find a collapsible container or something for the IDs and items, but it's 4AM here and I can't find anything. Feel free to edit my comment to save space.

I have fixed all the problems you have mentioned. Thank you for helping out with the Item IDs! – ReedemtheD3ad! (talk) 23:43, 27 July 2018 (UTC)
Thanks for the help. The item IDs page is almost complete now!. Just a couple for things left. I added a table to the Trapped Chests page to give them a proper ID spot. Not sure if they will show up in the IDs page or not though, you might have to edit it a bit. Also, all the boss masks show up without "Mask" appended to their name. ("Skeletron Mask" shows up as "Skeletron"). Lastly, sometimes console items that share an ID with a PC item fight for the spot on the IDs list. I saw Cabbage taking the place of Carrot earlier, but now it has reversed and carrot is back on the list for now. Also the Horned God set IDs conflict with items. Thanks for all the help. I hope we can get the ID's page working 100%!
Kevman323 (talk) 22:31, 30 July 2018 (UTC)
I figured out the masks issue in the ID's page and they display/link correctly now. Just a few minor issues left.
Living Ichor Fire Block is just called "Living Ichor Block" in-game.
Sandfall Block is just called "Sandfall" and Snowfall Block is just called "Snowfall" in-game
The Horned God set overwrites the PC items with the same IDs sometimes.
Same thing with Cabbage.
The Jellyfish Banner page gives the actual item the wrong name. The name is correctly displayed as "Blue Jellyfish Banner" on the main Banners page.
Same thing with Slime Banner.
Creature from the Deep Banner is technically capitalized as "Creature From The Deep Banner" in-game. (very minor)
I'm unsure about the proper way of changing page/item names. I changed the Martian Ray Gunner Banner to fix its name, but I'm unsure if I did it right.
Thanks for all the work you do on this wiki. This wiki is a fantastic reference for both new and experienced players, and I've used it some much over the years. It really has become an invaluable resource.

Broken Hero Sword[edit source]

Hi, my friend edited the articles to the Broken Hero Sword and Mothron some days ago, because we noticed that Mothron starts dropping them after the Golem is defeated. We checked it on a steam site too, and there some people noticed the same thing. We killed about 5 Mothrons, but we got nothing. But after killing the Golem, we got 3 from 4 Mothrons. So my question is why did you changed the sites? Is it because he has no account? Or is something not right? Can i edit it?

If there are some grammatical or spelling mistakes, please don't pay attention to these, I'm from Germany and not done with school yet! ByGuru (talk) 21:29, 27 July 2018 (UTC)

I reverted the changes because I believed the information was false. After seeing your message here, I decided to investigate further to verify, so I asked around and got help with looking at the source code, and in-game testing. We have been successful in obtaining Broken Hero Swords before defeating Golem, and the source code only lists Plantera as the last requirement. Perhaps you are either unlucky, playing with mods, or are experiencing a strange bug. In the case of the latter, I recommend posting on the Official Forums. – ReedemtheD3ad! Double Biome Key?[edit source]

Is it possible to get 2 Keys from the same enemy? And if so, than what are the chances? If not what are the chances of getting 2 in a row from 2 enemies? Because it happened to me! 02:08, 30 July 2018 (UTC)

It is not possible for a single enemy to drop two identical Biome Keys. I will see if it is possible for an enemy in overlapping biomes to drop two different ones. If it is, the probability is 1/6250000 (0.00001625%), the same as obtaining two Biome Keys in a row from two separate enemies. If this indeed happened to you, then you are extremely lucky. – ReedemtheD3ad! (talk) 05:44, 30 July 2018 (UTC)

Sandbox page[edit source]

I put a recipe on the Sandbox page and it won't let me clear it. Can you please help me? 03:41, 30 July 2018 (UTC)

Ah, one of our abuse filters catches that. I will add this page as an exception. I went ahead and already cleared the Sandbox page. Thank you for letting me know. – ReedemtheD3ad! (talk) 05:44, 30 July 2018 (UTC)

Tempest Tooltip[edit source]

I noticed your edit on Tempest Staff, removing the version history that removes the tooltip 1 minute duration. Does this mean that the tooltip still exists on 1.3 or is it only in previous versions? Is this the same for all platforms? I would like to know so that I can clarify my edit about it in Trivia. Diamondcat6746 (talk) 23:06, 4 August 2018 (UTC)

At no time was that tooltip added to the Tempest Staff page. Which platforms do you see it on? – Ferretwings (talk) 20:08, 5 August 2018 (UTC)
As far as I know, there never was a tooltip for "1 minute duration". If this is incorrect, feel free to update the page accordingly. – ReedemtheD3ad! (talk) 20:22, 5 August 2018 (UTC)
I have, in fact, already updated the page to the best of my knowledge; that knowledge is that the TS displays the tooltip '1 minute duration' in the Old-gen console version, which is the only platform I play. I added this in the Trivia section. Diamondcat6746 (talk) 22:19, 5 August 2018 (UTC)
PS3? – Ferretwings (talk) 23:40, 5 August 2018 (UTC)
Yes. Diamondcat6746 (talk) 00:04, 6 August 2018 (UTC)

Damage and DPS Page?[edit source]

I noticed that while there are pages for the DPS Meter and Damage Types, there is no page for Damage per Second or Damage itself. I would like to collab on such pages titled "Damage" and "DPS". I suppose the pages would be structured similarly to the Defense page, including tips on how to improve your Damage and DPS, what weapons have the highest Damage and DPS, and how to achieve the highest Damage and DPS possible. Could we do a project like this? Diamondcat6746 (talk) 17:47, 10 August 2018 (UTC)

The page exists: , but it needs some maintenance. EDIT: so, is there any reason of why Damage is linked to Damage Types? They are 2 completely different thing. Murrayzero (talk) 18:09, 10 August 2018 (UTC)
You could create a DPS page. Once it's made, we can decide if it deserves it's own page, or if the info should be moved to another page. I don't recall seeing any info on the wiki regarding calculating DPS. Health also has info on damage. – Ferretwings (talk) 19:16, 10 August 2018 (UTC)

Aaron's set cargo undo[edit source]

"The set shouldn't be called anywhere by Cargo. If it is, please let me know."
Define "called by". It might not be result of any existing query, but it's still on first page of Special:CargoTables/Items, which I tend to visit when I attempt to write a query. 08:33, 16 October 2018 (UTC)

Yes, I mean queried when I said called. Due to the way the cargo extension works, the table itself is going to be difficult to look perfect, but as long as queries sort out anything unwanted, it works great. I can look into having the cargo table ignore item sets when storing them to the table to eliminate this particular issue. – ReedemtheD3ad! (talk) 07:11, 20 October 2018 (UTC)

Pickaxes page[edit source]

Seems you forgot to remove some sandbox leftovers on the pickaxe table on this page -- 15:47, 22 October 2018 (UTC)

Ah, thank you for pointing that out. I removed them. – ReedemtheD3ad! (talk) 03:45, 23 October 2018 (UTC)

Dark theme fixup[edit source]

Dear ReedemtheD3ad,

Thank you for offering me this opportunity to improve the wiki for dark mode dwellers such as me.

I currently have two sugestions for improvement of the dark theme. First of all, in my custom CSS page there are a couple small improvements that I think are oversights by the developers. These can be implemented in the main CSS file.

An example is the source editing text field, which right now is a blinding black on white. This is fixed in my CSS, however I think this should be implemented site-wide.

My second suggestion lies wihing an issue I have encountered on several pages. The creator of the page would want to emphasise a certain div, and in order to do so would insert a style tag with set color. The result is a nicely emhpasised div. On dark mode however, it makes for a nice dark page with an eye fizzeling block of white in the middle. To fix this I would suggest adding a .emphasis class to the CSS files, which can be used to emphasise a specific div. This would allow for the same effect, now including a dark version for dark mode. I am currently working on the CSS code required to make this work, and once I'm done I will send it to you.

Once again thanks for the opportunity and have a good day.

Kwonunn (talk) 19:23, 7 November 2018 (UTC)

Dear whoever is reading this (most likely redeemthed3ad), Below you will find the CSS coding for the .emphasis style.
For the regular hydra theme:
.emphasis {
background: #9bbeec;
For the dark hydra theme:
.emphasis {
background: #444;
border: 5px;
Kwonunn (talk) 19:17, 7 November 2018 (UTC)
I like your suggestions and asked some other users of the Dark Theme and got their input. They also mostly liked your suggestions, but wanted the editing area even darker. I implemented most of your suggestions except with the darker editing area. I will still experiment with the .emphasis class. Thank you again for suggestions.

How?[edit source]

Does anyone know ho to edit there account because I try to edit mine but It won’t let me? Unknownwarrier (talk) 18:36, 14 November 2018 (UTC)

I've created your user page. I'm not sure why it wouldn't let you. – Ferretwings (talk) 19:30, 14 November 2018 (UTC)
I checked the Abuse Filter Log and found the issue, Unknownwarrier was trying to create UserProfile:Unknownwarrior, not User:Unknownwarrier, This was possible in the past, but created problems that needed the site devs to fix (the page would be unreachable anyways, so it would just be deleted). We created a Global Filter to prevent this from happening in the future. This reason it came up as UserProfile instead of User is usually caused by mobile users (not sure why, it is being looked into). – ReedemtheD3ad! (talk) 00:29, 15 November 2018 (UTC)
