Water Walking Boots found in the cavern layer.

Water Walking Boots are an accessory that allows a player to walk on water and honey. The player moves across both liquids at normal speed without sinking. They are found in Water Chests, though they are much rarer compared to other Water Chest items. They do not allow walking on lava (although the upgraded Lava Waders will do so). When the player is on a liquid, they may press down to fall through the liquid, similar to a platform. On the Desktop version Desktop version and Mobile version Mobile version, there is a 9.09*1/11 (9.09%) chance to find Water Walking Boots in Ocean and Seaside Crates.

Notes[edit | edit source]

  • Walking on a liquid requires a stable surface, indicated by the bright line on the surface. Moving liquid cannot be walked on and will be fallen through normally.
  • Landing on the surface of water or honey with these equipped will not cause fall damage.
  • All Water Walking Boots (including Obsidian Water Walking Boots, Lava Waders, Hellfire Treads and Terraspark Boots) can walk on Honey.
  • If the player grapples something below them while they are standing on water, they will be pulled in.
  • Riding a land mount while having the Water Walking Boots or any of its upgrades equipped will transfer its abilities to the mount (e.g. the Blessed Apple mount will walk on water, while the Shrimpy Truffle mount will not).
  • This item appears to be far more common when opening Ocean and Seaside Crates than when found in a Water Chest. Due to this, it may be advisable that the player open crates to obtain this item, instead of searching underground.
