Chilled is a debuff inflicted by monsters in the Snow biome. In Expert mode, it is also caused by being in water located in a Snow biome. The debuff can be prevented with the Hand Warmer, or, on the PC version PC version, Console version Console version, Mobile version Mobile version, Old Chinese version Old Chinese version, Nintendo 3DSNintendo 3DS version version, tModLoader version tModLoader version, and tModLoader 1 tModLoader 1.3-Legacy version, the Ankh Shield. Notes[]

  • While this debuff is active, moving causes sounds and dust effects similar to those of the Hermes Boots.
  • Chilled even affects movement on most mounts (except Slime Mount and most to all flying Mounts Verify).
  • When entering water while this debuff is active, the timer on the debuff will be invisible.
    • This does not apply when player has the debuff longer than 5 seconds inside the Tundra biome.
