The Guide to Plant Fiber Cordage is an accessory that, when equipped, allows the player to collect Vine Ropes when destroying vines. It can be found inside surface Chests or in Wooden Crates obtained from fishing.

Notes

• It works on regular and Jungle vine, but it does not work on Hallowed, Corrupt, or Crimson vine.
• In Multiplayer, vines will only drop if the player closest to them has the Guide to Plant Fiber Cordage equipped, regardless of who destroyed them.

Tips

• The Vine Rope produced by this item is identical to ordinary Rope in every way but appearance, and vines are naturally occurring and abundant. Finding this item early can greatly decrease the difficulty of exploring deep caves before acquiring mobility aids like Grappling Hooks.
