The Mana Regeneration Band is an accessory item made by combining a Band of Starpower and a Band of Regeneration at a Tinkerer's Workshop. It somewhat combines the effects of both bands, expanding a player's mana pool and converting the bonus health regeneration provided by the Band of Regeneration into mana regeneration.

The Band of Starpower, which is required for crafting the Mana Regeneration Band, is generally exclusive to worlds with Corruption, as it is obtained from Shadow Orbs and Corrupt Crates. Therefore, obtaining a Mana Regeneration Band in worlds with Crimson requires creating an artificial Corruption biome, e.g. by purchasing Corrupt Seeds from the Dryad in a Hardmode Graveyard. On the PC version PC version, Console version Console version, Mobile version Mobile version, and tModLoader version tModLoader version, the Band of Starpower can also be crafted from a Panic Necklace, however.

On the Windows Phone version Windows Phone version and Nintendo 3DSNintendo 3DS version version, the Band of Starpower can additionally often be found in Living Wood Chests in Living Trees in any world.

Notes[]

  • In detail, the accessory has a twofold effect on mana regeneration:[1]
    • It halves the regeneration delay after spending mana, e.g. using a magic weapon. If standing still or having the Mana Regeneration buff, it only reduces the delay by 33.33*1/3 (33.33%).
    • It increases the regeneration rate by a certain value, which ranges from +2.875 mana/sec to +14.375 mana/sec, depending on how full the wearer's mana bar is. The exact value can be calculated by adding 2.875 to 11.5 * (cur/max), where cur is the current and max the maximum mana. The following table demonstrates this with some exemplary values:
Cur./Max. mana Bonus regen
Mana 1 / 200 (0.5%) +2.93 mana/sec
Mana 3 / 30 (10%) +4.03 mana/sec
Mana 10 / 20 (50%) +8.63 mana/sec
Mana 201 / 400 (50.25%) +8.65 mana/sec
Mana 35 / 50 (70%) +10.93 mana/sec
Mana 39 / 40 (97.5%) +14.09 mana/sec
Mana 299 / 300 (99.67%) +14.34 mana/sec
The bonus is flatly added to the natural mana regeneration. It does not matter if the player is moving or standing still.
  • Due to the base mana regeneration rate increasing with maximum mana, this flat bonus becomes exponentially less significant the more maximum mana the wearer has. For instance, while the bonus regen is equivalent to nearly a +650% boost at 20 maximum mana, it equals merely a +57% boost at 300 maximum mana. The exact factor for any amount of maximum mana can be calculated by dividing max+182 by max+7. The following table demonstrates this with some exemplary values:
Max. mana Bonus regen
Mana 20 +648.15%
Mana 40 +372.34%
Mana 60 +261.19%
Mana 120 +137.8%
Mana 400 +43%
  • The Mana Regeneration Band does not increase health regeneration like the Band of Regeneration, even though it is part of its recipe.
  • The bonus maximum mana capacity does stack with that of the Band of Starpower.

Trivia[]

  • Its mana regeneration ability works in the same way the Band of Starpower did in the Pre-Release.
