The Iron Anvil and Lead Anvil are crafting stations used mainly to craft weapons and armor. Both Anvils can craft the same items. Most of their recipes require metal bars, although they are also used to make other items, such as the Jungle tier of equipment. The Anvils are a vital crafting station for most of the game, as they are used to make items from every tier up to Cobalt and Palladium, after which they must be replaced by a Mythril Anvil or Orichalcum Anvil.

Anvils can sometimes be found in Underground Cabins. Both Anvils are craftable. The Iron Anvil can also be purchased from the Merchant. On the  Mobile version, the Merchant will sell either the Iron Anvil or Lead Anvil.

Trivia

• In reality, lead would not be a feasible metal for making anvils. It would not keep its structure very long, due to the low Mohs hardness (1.5) and melting point (600 K) of pure lead.
