Dropped by Twins
My friend got one dropped by The Twins (and yes he used it so he is not lying) we recently fought in latest update, is this a bug or is the twins page not updated yet? FunAlways (talk) 10:59, 15 May 2014 (UTC)
- Your friend may have obtained this weapon, but not from fighting the twins. It isn't dropped by any enemy (source code confirmed) and can only be obtained from crafting. --0icke0 (talk) 11:35, 15 May 2014 (UTC)
- The Optic Staff is crafted, not dropped. Chances are your friend crafted it using the Souls of Sight you got from beating the Twins and you weren't paying attention at the time. Sodapone (talk) 15:35, 17 May 2014 (UTC)

Best Minion Staff?

Maybe? Depending on what buffs and armor you have this may go well with many different situations. Besides, you can have way more minions than you're supposed to have. Macaro456 (talk) 13:16, 23 April 2020 (UTC)
Coming to console?
Omg. I finnally beat the twins but was dissapointed because i couldnt get the optic staff. Plz make it come to console! beetle armor to plz!

This probably isn't monitored by the devs, and even if it was, it's not the place for requests....
This item is not better than Tempest Staff.
A section of this article remarks on the "base 60 damage per pair of hits" giving it a higher rate of damage than the Tempest Staff. This is misleading and inaccurate because the mini Twins have a hit limit of 6 per second, where Tempest has hypothetically unlimited. In two seconds, 5 Tempests can deal around 5*50*2 (fire rate is close to once per second, this is an approximation) 500 damage, where the twins can hit 12 times, at 30 damage each, for 360 damage.In actual game situations the idea that there can be two hits per pair is irrelevant. The damage gap may even grow larger depending on defense of the target, number of minions, etc. Killing Duke Fishron, for example, is much speedier and easier to do with tempests than twins, with the same setup otherwise. I suggest this remark be removed or changed to fit a more realistic representation of the item.
- That paragraph sort of bothered me too, just because of "60 per pair" claim, when that's not actually how damage from a pair of entities works. There may be something to say about how the Twins and Tempest need to be compared based on something other than their damage number, but I found the existing paragraph misleading. Interesting anomaly
I found an interesting anomaly when using a Bewitching Table to add an additional minion instance. When the bewitchment wore off, I was left with two Retinazer minions instead of a Retinazer and a Spazmatism. Can anyone else reproduce?

Bug: I have just one of the twins

(Sorry for the link, I am not certain how to throw in the picture itself, since it is a steam screenshot..)
In the Item Wiki-description it was mentioned, that it was impossible to have an uneven number of Twins, so I guess this is a bug.
It is reproducable, I get a total of 5x2 Eyes, then I start summoning Spiders and in the end I am left with 4 spiders and 1 Spazimini.
When I tried to reproduce the bug it became obvious, that only Spaziminis seem to have that problem.
