Conditions
What are the conditions to get it from the Steampunker? Couldn't find it. Please attach a proofpic. ALTracer (talk) 21:26, 14 February 2014 (UTC)
- Based on what I've seen, if the steampunker doesent actually sell it, it might be found in chests.--81.178.132.145 22:29, 14 February 2014 (UTC)
- Any idea what chests? I can confirm the Boiler isn't in her inventory day nor night. It maybe a special condition though like Blood Moon or Solar Eclipse but that doesn't make much sense seeing as it is kind of a traditional crafting station. - I've seen a few people claim to have gotten the boiler but I can't seem to get it either. It's definitely not a Blood Moon/Solar Eclipse item. Maybe it's based on the moon cycle? Summoningdark (talk) 09:05, 15 February 2014 (UTC)

- I've just upgraded to 1.2.3 and have to beat both Plantera and Golem yet. Sure, it may depend on bosses defeated, events completed (I mean Frost Moon&Co), even player's inventory! Maybe let's just inspect our Steampunkers now and report the moon phase? Old moon, boiler is absent. ALTracer (talk) 09:32, 15 February 2014 (UTC)
- I've defeated all of the bosses except the two waves. I'll keep some tabs on my moon cycles. I also just decompiled the code, so I'll poke through that and see if I can find anything. - Unless I've understood it completely incorrectly, the code says that you get the Steampunk Boiler after defeating the three pre-Hardmode bosses, and the Flesh Cloning Vaat is only sold in Crimson worlds. Something's wrong here. Can anyone at least confirm the latter (that Corrupt worlds don't get the FCV?) Summoningdark (talk) 10:44, 15 February 2014 (UTC)

- Got it! I killed Eye of Cthulhu and the Brain of Cthulhu. I don't know about the Eye but I know I never killed the Brain on this world. My guess is the Eye, Brain/Eater of Worlds, Destroyer, Twins, and Skeletron Prime need to be killed before she'll sell it. --FordGT90Concept (talk) 11:03, 15 February 2014 (UTC)
- Huh. I went and killed the first bosses again too (on my all-bosses-defeated, pre-1.2.3 world). I've got it now as well. I killed EoC first and checked with her and it wasn't there, but after I killed BoC it was. Maybe you need to kill them again for it to register that you've defeated them and she should start selling the item? The bit of code dictating whether she sells it looks like this:
- if (NPC.downedBoss1 && NPC.downedBoss2 && NPC.downedBoss3)
- "downedBoss#" definitely means the pre-hardmode bosses - the mech bosses are called "downedMechBoss#". I think it's just being a little silly with realising we've already fought them. Summoningdark (talk) 11:22, 15 February 2014 (UTC)

Cannot get Steampunk Boiler
Hi! I’m the same unlogged in to this guy who needed a solar eclipse and I got Three! I only got one broken hero sword on the first two though. but I used it to craft true night’s edges. not the true excalibur because I was playing with my sister. But now I’m struggling for the steampunk boiler but I cannot get It! Maybe you have to defeat some pre-hardmode bosses? Availability Conditions
I literally just had this sold to me by the Steampunker on PC version having only killed one mechanical boss (The Twins), and no strange moon phases (waxing crescent), which is not what the page suggests should be the case... glitch, or out of date info? - I'm afraid there's a misunderstanding – the only availability condition is the Eye of Cthulhu, Eater of Worlds/Brain of Cthulhu, and Skeletron being defeated, as stated on the page. Your experience is expected behavior. --Rye Greenwood (talk) 10:57, 25 September 2020 (UTC)
