The statement about the worm food doing 950 damage to the player. When it is used outside of a corrupted area is false. It simply doesn't work outside of a corrupted area.
Also a it only qualifies as a corrupted area if the sky and music changes (to match that of other corrupt areas). In other words a small patch of corrupt grass will not work to summon the Eater of Worlds.

Expert Mode and Treasure Bags[]
It has been my experience that killing the Eater of Worlds after using a Worm Food does not result in a treasure bag in Expert mode. Only killing him after spawning him with 3 orbs does. Has this been anyone else's experience? If so I believe it's worth a note in the wiki entry for the item.
