PC-Only Content: This information applies only to the PC version of Terraria.

Title messages are located at the top of Terraria's game window when it is in windowed mode. It is displayed as one of several mock slogans, chosen at random each time the game is started. These messages often reference popular culture or other video games.

The title message will appear in the top-left corner of the game window on Windows 7. It will appear in the top-middle of the game window on Windows 8, Windows 10, Mac OS X, and Ubuntu.

Terraria: Shut up and Dig Gaiden! Reference to "Barkley, Shut Up and Jam: Gaiden"
Terraria: Sand is Overpowered References Sand's ability to fall and deal damage. This could also be a reference to a Pre-Alpha lets play of Terraria where Blue states "This is, like, the only game where sand is overpowered."
Terraria: A Bunnies Tale Possible reference to the movie "The Knight's Tale"
Terraria: Small Blocks, Not for Children Under the Age of 5 Reference to the warning on toys with small parts
Terraria: There is No Cow Layer Reference to the "Cow Level" in the Diablo franchise, and to another of its kind in the StarCraft franchise, in which the cheat code to access these levels is "There is no cow level"
Terraria: Digger T’ Blocks Reference to the game "Digger T. Rock", an old NES Rareware game that is similar to Terraria
Terraria: The Grass is Greener on This Side Reference to the common saying "The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence"
Terraria Part 3: The Return of the Guide Reference to the third part of the famous novel The Lord of the Rings, "The Return of the King," or possibly the third-created film in the Star Wars saga, "Return of the Jedi"
Terraria: Dr. Bones and the Temple of the Blood Moon Reference to the movie "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom"
Terraria: Purple Grass! Possible reference to the song by Jimi Hendrix, "Purple Haze" or because grass in The Corruption is purple
Terraria: Dig Peon, Dig! Reference to a line from the movie "Forrest Gump," which was originally "Run, Forrest! Run!"

Terraria: Suspicious Looking Eyeballs The item used to summon the Eye of Cthulhu boss in-game is called a Suspicious Looking Eye.
Terraria: Epic Dirt Possible reference to the Merchant's quote, "Check out my dirt blocks: they are extra dirty", however this is likely unrelated.
Terraria: Also try Minecraft! One of Minecraft's title messages is "Also try Terraria!"
