Tome of Infinite Wisdom in use.

The Tome of Infinite Wisdom is a Hardmode magic weapon which is dropped by Ogre mini-boss during the Old One's Army event. When fired, it auto-fires four high-velocity pages that do not pierce.  Interact summons a tornado which can pierce enemies, travels through one-block low roofs, lasts four seconds, and will be stopped by a wall. If used while moving on a flying mount, its pages spread out.

Its best modifier is Mythical.

Trivia

  • The Tome of Infinite Wisdom's right click attack resembles the second attack, used by the Apprentice in Dungeon Defenders 2, Tornado. It also uses the same animation as both the Forbidden armor set bonus and the Sand Elemental "Sandnado" attack.
  • This weapon and the Sky Dragon's Fury, another drop acquired during the Old One's Army, are the only weapons in Terraria to have both a left-click attack and right-click attack.
  • "In all their infinite wisdom" is an expression that is used almost exclusively in a derogatory or sarcastic context to denote a particularly stupid decision, made by either a single person or a larger governing body. The tooltip of "Gotta wonder who stuck a tome of infinite wisdom on a stick..." is clearly a parody of this.
